To Do Today: DC Independent Film Fest

Independence Ave and S Capitol St
11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Film buffs and political pundits unite at the DC Independent Film Festival in a discussion of film policy during the On the Hill Summit. Film taxes, incentives, and ways to promote film job creation in DC are the hot topics addressed during a discussion from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Later tonight, engage in a conversation with acclaimed documentary filmmaker Les Blank, and sneak a peak at some of his new work at 6:45 p.m ($14). Then head to the Navy Heritage Center for screening a of “A Swingin’ Trio” at 9:30 p.m., a film about love and betrayal centered around one Valentine’s Day dinner ($10). “Swingin’” director Kelvin Phillips will be available for a Q&A session afterwards.

For more screenings and even a zombie walk, check out the full DCIFF schedule.
